Josh Builta, Research Director, AI & IoT

Key areas of expertise: Hardware components, connectivity technology, the Internet of Things.

Bringing 10+ years of experience in the research industry, at Omdia Josh manages a global team of analysts producing market intelligence and analysis on the IoT and AI markets and guides the team's strategy, research agenda, and commercial planning. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Before Omdia, Josh served as VP of product management at Ingenu, formulating the company’s product roadmap and guiding cross-functional teams. From 2010-16, he led IHS Markit’s coverage of the IoT market and guided the launch of the first IHS IoT Intelligence service. Josh’s experience also includes serving government and military officials as a national security intelligence analyst.

Natalia Modjeska, Research Director, AI & IA

Key area of expertise: AI governance, ethics and sustainability, Responsible AI; AI literacy, operationalizing and scaling AI; AI certification, standardization, regulation and auditing.

Natalia has 15+ years of experience in developing and deploying analytics and AI. She holds a PhD in AI (NLP) from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and an Executive MBA from the Ivey School of Business (Western University).

Natalia serves as an expert on the ISO/IEC AI Standards working group and volunteers with several non-profits on AI literacy, certification, and governance. Natalia’s diverse career includes R&D, product and program management, sales, consulting, and client advisory.

Alexander's work covers the emerging enterprise applications of AI and machine learning, with a focus on business models and AI as an IT service, as well as on the core technology of AI.

He is responsible for developing Omdia products such as the AI Viewpoints Service and the LTE & 5G Private Networks Tracker. He was the second employee of start-up consulting firm STL Partners. His long-term research interests include mobile, open source, distributed computing, and the two-sided business model.

Jonathan Cassell: Principal Analyst, Advanced Computing, AI & IoT

Key areas of expertise include: Semiconductor, AI chipsets, and hardware

Jonathan Cassell is a Principal Analyst on Advanced Computing, AI & IoT at Informa Tech's Omdia team. Jonathan brings with him more than 30 years of experience and expertise in the technology field of Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things, with an extensive background in market research, journalism, and marketing. ​

It's Jonathan’s familiarity with semiconductor and AI technologies that gives him a unique perspective and enables his to explore deep insights on the markets for AI chipsets and hardware, and why is he one of our Principal Analysts at Omdia today.

In the role of technology analyst, Jonathan worked at Gartner Group, covering the market for consumer-electronics-oriented semiconductors. As a journalist, he rose to the rank of editor-in-chief at the semiconductor-oriented publication Electronic News. Jonathan has also worked extensively in a marketing capability for market research firms as part of his experience, and it is this knowledge he brings to the team at Omdia.

Andrew Brosnan, Principal Analyst, AI & Intelligent Automation

Andrew is a principal analyst in Omdia’s Artificial Intelligence and intelligent Automation practice, with a vertical focus of AI use cases and the business impact of AI primarily in the healthcare and financial services sectors. 

Based in Oxford, his professional career of 30 years spans the professional and financial services and life sciences sectors as a practitioner of IT, industry analyst and consultant.  Andrew has worked in IT for multinational organizations such as JP Morgan and Merck Pharmaceuticals and as an industry analyst and market researcher for Grant Thornton and Goldman Sachs in corporate finance and investment banking respectively.   

As an industry analyst, Andrew has advised enterprises on digital transformation to improve operational efficiency, IT product selection, business case development, best practice, IT strategy and implementation.  Andrew also advises tech companies on product strategy and development, competitive intelligence, use cases, corporate development strategy, and go-to-market messaging.   

Andrew holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Boston University and an MBA from the University of Warwick.

Lian Jye Su, Chief Analyst, Omdia

Lian Jye is a Chief Analyst at Omdia. He is responsible for the orchestration of applied intelligence market research in the Asia Pacific region. He provides strategic guidance and business intelligence on AI infrastructure, software, and service. He is widely quoted in the press and media on various AI and robotics-related topics, including CNN, BBC, CNBC, Straits Times, and Nikkei Asian Review.

Prior to joining Omdia, he has been with ABI Research for nine years. He started as a junior analyst covering cellular telecommunications technologies. In recent years, he was the Research Director of AI and Robotics, leading market intelligence services covering global market development and technological trends in robotics and AI hardware, software, and services. 

For education, Lian Jye graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the National University of Singapore, and Masters of Business Administration from the University of Melbourne.
